The Oratorio Society of Virginia celebrates Mother’s Day at the University of Virginia’s Old Cabell Hall by reprising great choral works from the Society’s 50-year history, including excerpts from Orff’s Carmina Burana, Rachmaninoff’s VespersThe Battle Hymn of the Republic, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bach’s Mass in B Minor, and Bernstein’s Candide. The Society will be joined by Jeremy Thompson, organist and Music Director at Charlottesville’s First Presbyterian Church, Metropolitan Opera soprano Danielle Talamantes, and tenor Jordan Davidson. Tickets are $25 General and $15 for Students.
