Jazz in the Ampitheater

The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents the UVA Jazz Groups for an end of the year Jazz Jam on Wednesday, May 2nd from noon in the UVA Amphitheater.  

The Jazz Small Groups are taught by distinguished jazz performance faculty members Pete Spaar, Jeff Decker and Mike Rosensky. The groups range in size from quartets to octets and vary in skill-level from intermediate to advanced. Repertoire is chosen from a diverse range of jazz styles by such greats as Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Antonio Carlos Jobim, among many others, as well as original compositions by both faculty and students.

Bring a picnic or pick one up at the Corner or the West Range, food trucks or at the Rising Roll and relax and enjoy an afternoon of Jazz.

Parking is available in at the Central Grounds Parking Garage, or in the lots off University Avenue at the University Corner.  Handicapped parking is available in the C1 parking lot or in designated spaces on McCormick Avenue.
