WTJU presents a Songwriting Showcase on Tuesday, November 19th from 8pm - 10pm at the WTJU studios located at 2244 Ivy Road. The event is free and open to the public.
The students of Songwriting (MUSI 3370) take over the Stage at WTJU with original tunes and fresh takes they've been working on this semester and beyond. Join the class and teacher-host Heather Mease for a night of songs by some of UVA's finest! The Songwriters Showcase is presented by WTJU and the UVA Music Department as part of the Music Commons series with support provided by the Dunton Gift to the UVA Jazz program.
WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Road in Charlottesville, VA, next to Vivace restaurant. Studios are exactly one mile west of UVA’s Rotunda. By car: Parking is available both in front of and behind the building. The parking spaces in the back are handicap accessible.By bus: WTJU is served by the Purple Line of the University Transit system, at the same stop as the U-Heights housing complex. By foot / bike: Albemarle County is building new sidewalks and bike lanes on Ivy Road to WTJU and beyond, with an expected completion in early fall 2019.
