The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents the UVA Flute Ensemble on Saturday, April 16th at 1 pm. 

The concert, "Close Enough for Jazz," features music inspired by jazz that will be sure to get your toes tapping! The group will perform works by Ernest Burgstahler, George Gershwin, Raymond Guiot, Mike Mower, and two new takes on old favorites Paganini and Bach, re-imagined by Mike Garson and Krzysztof Zgraja.

 The UVA Flute Ensemble features talented students from all areas of study along with community members, and includes Tanya Akl, Courtney Fox, Mei Gong, Jocelyn Huang, Tatevik Markaryan, Adam Naidorf, Hilary Ning, Rachel Seldowitz, Matthew Shih, Jessie Tosto, Lucy Wu, and Ryan Lerner on percussion.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Historic Brooks Hall is on University Avenue adjacent to University of Virginia’s Rotunda and directly across the street from St. Paul’s Memorial Church and the Bank of America.

Parking is on the street or in one of the many parking lots & garages on "the Corner" across from Brooks Hall in lots on Elliewood Avenue, University Avenue, Fourteenth Street, and Wertland Street.
