The Youth Orchestras of Charlottesville-Albemarle will take the stage in Old Cabell Hall on the historic lawn at the University of Virginia on Friday, February 20th at 7:30pm.

The program will feature The Rita M. Evans Orchestra and The Youth Orchestra, both with exciting repertoire. The Evans Orchestra will perform selections from Gabrieli, Telemann, Beethoven, Brahms, and Stravinsky. Appearing with the Youth Orchestra will be the two winners of the Martha Dugan Concerto Competition held last October. Wind/Brass winner, Erica Pritchard, will perform Sonate pour Flûte by Poulenc while MinKyung Hong, Strings winner, will perform the 3rd movement of Mendelsshon's Concerto in E minor. The Youth Orchestra will also perform John Williams' The Cowboys and Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet.

Founded in 1977, the Youth Orchestras of Charlottesville-Albemarle provides a full and enriching orchestral experience for young people throughout the Central Virginia area. YOCA is comprised of two full symphony orchestras, a strings program, and three ensembles, all of which rehearse and perform in Charlottesville, Virginia.
