Charlottesville Symphony at the Virginia Film Festival Family Day

Mini Concert and Screening of The Aristocats - Saturday, November 11, at 9:45am,Culbreth Theatre

The Symphony plays a starring role in the Virginia Film FestivalFamily Day on Saturday, November 11 at the UVA Arts Grounds. Orchestra musicians will perform a brief concert of cat-themed music at 9:45am, immediately prior to the 10:00am screening of Disney'sThe Aristocats. The Symphony will also host a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, where kids can see, touch and play instruments from the orchestra. 

Musical Instrument Petting Zoo - Saturday, November 11, 11:30am - 1:00pm, Helms Theatre

After the film, faculty, student and community members of the Charlottesville Symphony will host a Musical Instrument Petting Zoo in the Helms Theater. Children of all ages and their parents are invited to explore musical instruments from the string, woodwind, brass and percussion families.  Members of the orchestra will demonstrate the instruments and answer questions about them.  Children and their parents will have the opportunity to try each of the instruments, too.
