University of Virginia Chamber Music Series- Albemarle Ensemble with John Mayhood, piano
The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents the final of six concerts in the UVA Chamber Music Series on Monday, April 25th at 8:00 pm in Old Cabell Hall. The UVA Chamber Music Series brings an array of musicians to provide professional performances to the University and the central Virginia community. Directed by Kelly Sulick, the programs offer a wide range of works that are sure to entertain, educate and enthrall.
The Albemarle Ensemble concludes the 2015-2016 Chamber Music Series with a program of dazzling woodwind chamber works. The recital will feature Francis Poulenc's essential “Sextet for Piano and Winds,” alongside works by Adrien Barthe, Ludwig v. Beethoven, Chick Corea, and Gioacchino Rossini. The concert features Kelly Sulick, flute; Aaron Hill, oboe; Shawn Earle, Clarinet; Elizabeth Roberts, bassoon; Katy Ambrose, horn; and John Mayhood, piano
The Albemarle Ensemble has been in residence at the University of Virginia since 1987. A wind quintet, the group has performed throughout the Eastern United States, including at Carnegie Hall. The ensemble received a Virginia Arts Grant for educational programs and several other grants for recording and touring projects. The members of the ensemble serve as Principals of The Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia as well as Faculty Lecturers at the University.

Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
