The Tina Hashemi Quintet will take The Stage at WTJU as part of the new Musical Commons series, on Tuesday, November 5th from 8-10pm.  Musical Commons is a new collaboration between WTJU and the UVA Music Department. The event is free and open to the public.

Tina Hashemi is a jazz singer and student at the University of Virginia, where she studies music performance and jazz voice with Stephanie Nakasian and John D’earth. Tina is part of the performance concentration program in the McIntire Department of Music.

This event is part of the WTJU Music Commons series with support provided by the Dunton Gift to the UVA Jazz program.

WTJU-FM is a noncommercial educational radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to the Rector and Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia. WTJU presents original, rich, and diverse programming of music and other forms of expression free from the direct constraints of commercial interests, reflecting the broadest educational goals of the University.WTJU broadcasts as WTJU 91.1 FM in Central Virginia.

WTJU is located at 2244 Ivy Road in Charlottesville, VA, next to Vivace restaurant.  Studios are exactly one mile west of UVA’s Rotunda. By car: Parking is available both in front of and behind the building. The parking spaces in the back are handicap accessible.By bus: WTJU is served by the Purple Line of the University Transit system, at the same stop as the U-Heights housing complex. By foot / bike: Albemarle County is building new sidewalks and bike lanes on Ivy Road to WTJU and beyond, with an expected completion in early fall 2019.
