Charlottesville Symphony - The Harry Potter Concert

Charlottesville – The Charlottesville Symphony returns to The Paramount Theater's stage on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30PM for Pops at The Paramount – The Harry Potter Concert.

Music Director Benjamin Rous leads the full symphony orchestra in music from all eight films: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, Prisoner of Azkaban, and Deathly Hallows, Parts 1 and 2. (Films will not be screened.)

The movie scores were composed by legendary John Williams (3), Patrick Doyle (1), Nicholas Hooper (2) and Alexandre Desplat (2). Williams is also the creator of “Hedwig’s Theme,” heard in all eight.

Audience members are invited to come dressed as their favorite Harry Potter-themed witch or wizard.

Wegmans is the corporate sponsor of Pops at the Paramount for the fourth consecutive year. Additional sponsors are Elizabeth Natoli, Robert and Christine Elliott, and the Paramount Theater. The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation is the lead sponsor of theorchestra’s entire 2018-19 season.

Tickets are priced at $28-$54 for adults and $15 for students, and may be purchased in person at The Paramount Theater Box Office from 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday, by calling (434) 979-1333 during those same hours, or online at www.theparamount.net

Now in its 44th season, the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia is a blended ensemble of professional musicians, talented community members and UVA students from a wide variety of academic disciplines. It produces 15 Masterworks, Holiday, Youth and Pops concerts each season, and presents a variety of programs in K-12 schools across an eleven- county region.
