The UVA Department of Music and The Bridge PAI present the first streaming Telemetry event of 2021 featuring performances from Grace Period, bleeech, The MICE Ensemble and UVA's New Music Ensemble.

Music begins at 7:30pm streaming from https://www.twitch.tv/thebridgepai

About the performers:

Grace Period is Katie Jackson and Renee Reighart. They are an ambient electronic duo that creates improvised ambient soundscapes. They reside in Charlottesville, Virginia, one block apart.

Miami based artist, bleeech, fuses elements of pop, synth drones, and the nature that surrounds them to create heavily textured ambient realms one can get lost in. These humidity soaked collages allow the listener to completely disengage with the world around them.

The MICE ensemble makes live electronic music and intermedia performances using custom interactive systems and handmade instruments. During its 14 years, MICE has performed throughout the world, released two albums, created 200+ person performances, and developed countless new instruments and pieces. Broadly, MICE explores the musical performance practices made possible by digital and electronic technologies and encourages collaboration across artistic disciplines.

The New Music Ensemble is a venue in which performers and audiences alike explore the newest music by today’s best composers, as well as by those of the recent past. The style of music ranges from the classics of High Modernism to the eclectic and energetic works of Postmodernism. Encompassing the full range and variety of contemporary concert music, from acoustic to electronic to electroacoustic to the uncategorizable, one will discover music that can be serious, often sublime and sometimes even silly. A forum for all that is fresh and daring in today’s music, the New Music Ensemble offers a variety of riches for the inquisitive ear.
