Virtual Orientation Sessions - summer 2021

Tuesday, August 10 - 2021 to Tuesday, August 24 - 2021

If you want to know more about Music at UVA and you missed our summer orientation zoom webinars you can now watch the presentations on the UVA Music YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/uvamusic).  The first four presentations are intended to give a comprehensive overview of Music at UVA, and cover the student experiences in Music; Performance Ensembles; Academic Classes; Private Lessons; Music Faculty; the Music Major; the Performance Concentration; the Distinguished Major; Facilities; Auditions; Work, Volunteer and Intern opportunities and Arts$ (how UVA Students can attend music events for free). The final session is a little different in that it focuses on auditions, ensembles and private lessons in more detail and some of the other subjects are curtailed or omitted.

If you have more questions after watching the presentation(s), please write music@virginia.edu and we can direct your question to the appropriate faculty, staff or student.  All of our faculty, their bios and contact information are listed on our faculty page . Our private lessons faculty page lists only the faculty who teach private lessons (listed in order of their instruments) this page also has links to their bios and their contact information.

While our faculty, staff and students are very busy, especially at the beginning of the academic year, we always want to hear from and engage with students who are interested in music, so please do not hesitate to contact us.  If you do not feel like reaching out directly to our faculty, staff or students, you will find shortcuts to some of our most popular web pages, interest forms and social media sites below..
