Department of Music

The UVA Wind Ensemble will hold its fall concert, entitled “Transformations”, on Monday, November 18^th at 7:30PM in the Hunter Smith Band Building. Admission is free to the public. The band is excited to present works by H. Owen Reed, Joni Greene, Gordon Jacob, John Philip Sousa, Eric Whitacre, and Paul Hindemith. 

Conducted by the Director of Bands, Dr. Elliott Tackitt, this 50-member ensemble features the most outstanding brass, woodwind, and percussion players at the University, and rehearses and performs in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The focus of the UVA Wind Ensemble is for students to explore their artistic potential in a collaborative environment.

The Hunter Smith Band Building is located at 180 Culbreth Road at the University of Virginia. Parking for the concert is available at the Culbreth Road Parking Garage.
