The UVA Department of Music presents the third concert in its Faculty Artists Series featuring the Ragged Mountain Quartet. On Wednesday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall, the ensemble launches its Beethoven Quartet Cycle with an evening devoted to the timeless brilliance of Beethoven's string quartets. This concert is sponsored by the UVA Arts Council, enriching the arts on grounds.
Among the most celebrated works in the chamber music repertoire, Beethoven's quartets span a remarkable range of expression, innovation, and emotional depth. The Ragged Mountain Quartet features violinists Daniel Sender and Benjamin Rous, violist Danielle Wiebe Burke, and cellist Clara Lee Rous.
