Oboe and English Horn Masterclass with Kathryn Meany Wilson
The University of Virginia Music Department presents an Oboe and English Horn Masterclass by Kathryn Meany Wilson on Wednesday, April 22 at 4:45 p.m. in 107 Old Cabell Hall. This free event is supported by the Eleanor Shea Music Trust. The UVA students participating in this masterclass will be selected prior to the event.
Kathryn Meany Wilson joined the National Symphony Orchestra in 1997 as a solo English horn player and oboist. Previously, she performed with the Tulsa Philharmonic (1996), the New World Symphony (1995), and the Colorado Symphony (1994). She has also appeared with the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic.
Originally from Minnesota, Wilson received her bachelor’s degree from the Oberlin Conservatory and her master’s degree in performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music. Upon graduation in 1994, she was awarded the prestigious Performer’s Certificate.
