SPICMACAY Fall Concert 2024
SPICMACAY at UVA is excited to host our annual Fall Concert on September 21st featuring world-renowned Bharatnatyam dancer Manasvini K.R. This is SPICMACAY's first dance concert in over a decade! The event, open to the public and free of cost, seeks to give the music and dance lovers of the UVA and Charlottesville community a cost-free opportunity to enjoy Indian classical dance from one of the top Bharatnatyam dancers in the world.

About the art form and the artist:
Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest Indian classical Indian dance forms. It is known for its grace, precision, and storytelling, and is beautifully embodied by Manasvini KR, a world-renowned dancer. Daughter and disciple of Revathi Ramachandran, Manasvini has performed across the USA, France, Germany, Singapore, Australia, and Armenia. She holds titles such as 'Natya Chudar,' awarded for her excellence in dance, and 'Yuva Kala Bharati,' a recognition for young artists with outstanding talent.
As an ICCR-empanelled artist, she is part of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, which promotes Indian culture globally. Holding a B.Tech in Biotechnology and a Master's in Fine Arts from Sastra University, she now serves as Principal of Kala Sadhanalaya and teaches Bharatanatyam to underprivileged children through her Kadhir Foundation.
