student string performers on old cabell hall stage

String & Piano Chamber Ensembles Recital

The finest chamber music begins with conversation as students from the University of Virginia's String & Piano Chamber Music program present their spring recital on Saturday, April 10, 2027, at 3:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall.

Directed by Daniel Sender, the String & Piano Chamber Music program offers student musicians the opportunity to explore the rich chamber music repertoire while developing the artistry, communication, and collaborative musicianship that define outstanding ensemble performance. Working in small groups, students refine their interpretive skills through close listening, shared musical decision-making, and faculty coaching.

The spring recital celebrates the culmination of a semester of intensive rehearsal and artistic growth, featuring student ensembles performing works that may include string quartets, piano trios, sonatas, and other masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire. Each performance reflects the unique partnership that chamber music demands, where every musician contributes an equal voice to the musical conversation.

From beloved classics to engaging discoveries, the program offers audiences an afternoon of expressive performances that highlight the talent, dedication, and collaborative spirit of UVA's student musicians.

Detailed program information will be available closer to the concert date.

This concert is free and open to the public.
