String & Piano Chamber Music Concert

Experience the artistry of chamber music in its most intimate form as students from the University of Virginia's String & Piano Chamber Music program present an afternoon of chamber music on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall.

Directed by faculty violinist David Sariti, the String & Piano Chamber Music program offers student musicians the opportunity to explore some of the finest works in the chamber music repertoire while developing the collaborative skills that define exceptional ensemble performance. Working in small ensembles, students learn to communicate through careful listening, shared interpretation, and musical partnership—qualities that lie at the heart of chamber music.

The concert showcases the results of a semester of intensive rehearsal and faculty coaching, featuring performances by student ensembles whose repertoire may include string quartets, piano trios, sonatas, and other chamber works spanning the Classical, Romantic, and contemporary traditions.

Whether performing beloved masterworks or lesser-known gems, these talented musicians invite audiences to experience the expressive dialogue and artistic collaboration that make chamber music one of classical music's most rewarding forms.
