Experience the creativity and imagination of UVA's emerging composers as the University of Virginia Department of Music proudly presents its second Undergraduate Composers Concert on Friday, April 23, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall. This concert is free and open to the public.

This special concert features an exciting evening of world premiere performances, showcasing original works by undergraduate composers from across the University. Reflecting a wide range of musical voices and creative perspectives, the program highlights new compositions spanning diverse styles, genres, and approaches to contemporary music.

Organized by Leah Reid and generously co-sponsored by the University of Virginia Department of Music and the Jefferson Trust, the concert celebrates the artistry, innovation, and dedication of UVA's undergraduate composers while providing students with the invaluable opportunity to hear their music brought to life in performance.

The Undergraduate Composers Concert reflects the Department of Music's commitment to fostering creativity and supporting the next generation of musical artists. For many of the featured composers, the evening represents the culmination of months of artistic exploration, collaboration, and refinement, as performers and composers work together to prepare these new works for their first public performances.

Whether you are passionate about contemporary music or simply curious to discover new musical voices, this concert offers a unique opportunity to experience original works created by some of UVA's most talented student composers.

Detailed program information will be available closer to the concert date.
