UVA Clarinet Ensemble 2026 Recital
The UVA Clarinet Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jiyeon Choi will perform its spring concert in the University of Virginia Chapel on Friday, 4/17, at 3:30 PM. This concert is free and open to the public.
The program highlights the versatility of the clarinet, featuring music from opera, the Baroque era, and beyond.
The concert opens with the lively overture from The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, followed by Sonata by Domenico Scarlatti and a clarinet duet by Bernhard Crusell. The program continues with the beautiful "Flower Duet" from Lakmé by Léo Delibes, followed by an opera mash-up of familiar melodies. The concert concludes with the playful and dramatic Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns.
Performers include Victoria Hua, Rishi Bhogaraju, Taran Gupta, Matthew Shipe, Adrian Park and Trip Taylor.
The University of Virginia Chapel on the corner of University Avenue and McCormick Road (145 McCormick Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903). Parking can be found in the Central Grounds Parking Garage, in the spaces along McCormick Road next to the chapel or in the parking spaces along University Avenue.
Please note that the University Chapel does not have restrooms. The closest restrooms are located in Shannon Library or Newcomb Hall.
