"Around the World" with the UVA Concert Band

The University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music is pleased to announce the Spring Concert, “Around the World,” of the UVA Concert Band on Monday, April 30, 2012, at 6:30pm in the Amphitheatre. Pack a picnic and bring your friends to listen to the concert band favorites at this annual end of the year concert. The Concert Band, under the direction of Andrew Koch and Michael Idzior, features 70 musicians from every school at the University. The ensemble performance will include feature musical selections from around the world. Irish Washerwoman, Puszta, Tsunami, American River Songs, and more!
In preparation for their Monday night performance, the Concert Band will be joining the UVA Wind Ensemble in their concert on Sunday, April 29, at 3:30pm in Old Cabell Hall.
Monday’s concert is free and open to the public, and will take place at 6:30pm on Monday, April 30 in the Amphitheatre.
