ManasseThe University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music presents the Jon Manasse Clarinet Masterclass on Wednesday, April 25th at 1pm in 107 Old Cabell Hall.

One of the most distinguished clarinetists of his generation, Jon Manasse has performed with many of the country’s major orchestras, including the Baltimore, Indianapolis and Seattle Symphonies. As a chamber musician he has appeared at the Aspen, Sarasota, and Caramoor Music Festivals, among many others, and partnered with many of the leading ensembles of our day.  And as a much sought-after orchestral musician, he has been the guest principal clarinetist of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the St. Louis and Seattle Symphonies, and during 2003-04 served as principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

Jon Manasse currently teaches at the Eastman School of Music.
