Making Noise with the Rotunda Bassoon Ensemble and Trio V

November 15, 2019 - 4:00pm
UVA Music Library
Free

Join us in the Music Library for an afternoon of bassoon and clarinet music. The Rotunda Bassoon Ensemble, led by Professor Elizabeth Roberts and with guest Lauren Yu, will perform include works by Bach and Milde, as well as arrangements of favorites such as Danny Boy, St. Louis Blues, and folk songs made famous by the Kingston Trio. Clarinet ensemble Trio V, led by Professor Jiyeon Choi, will perform selected movements from Beethoven Trio Op. 87, excerpts from the Nutcracker and theme song of Super Mario. The performance will be followed by a reception.

The concert will be held in the Music Library, located within Old Cabell Hall.

The only library on the Lawn, the Music Library — located in the original coal furnace area of Old Cabell Hall — has a distinct architectural and historical presence at the University. Boasting a significant music collection and supporting research in a variety of arts-related fields, the library has served as a performance and presentation space for many student groups and community members.

Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda (map). Parking is available in the Central Grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Road, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner.
