Josh St. Hill: A Live Performance and in Conversation with A.D. Carson
Presented by the University Library and Making Noise
Friday, January 26th at 5:00pm, reception to follow at 6pm

The University Library and the Making Noise Series presents a conversation with and performance by Josh St. Hill, Monticello High School student and artist. This free event takes place on Friday, January 26th at 5pm in the UVA Music Library in Old Cabell Hall on the historic lawn.  A reception will follow at 6pm.

St. Hill wrote the award-winning “A King’s Story,” which tells the story of a black teen murdered by the police. In addition to the brilliant writing, St. Hill was the lead actor and punctuated the story with powerful raps. We are excited to have St. Hill make noise with his consciousness-raising hip-hop in this event moderated by UVA Assistant Professor of Hip-Hop, A.D. Carson.

The only library located on the historic Lawn, the music library occupies the original coal furnace area of Old Cabell Hall and features an unusual Guastavino vault as the ceiling of its main floor reading room.

Old Cabell Hall is located at the south end of the historic Lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda.

Parking is available at several locations both on and off "grounds".  All events are subject to change.
