The Charlottesville Mural Project and UVA Music Department are teaming up to bring Charlottesville graffiti artist Saeoh to UVA Arts Grounds. During March's Final Friday Saeoh will begin painting a mural that will be installed in the UVA Rap Lab (New Cabell Hall 398). Stop by Arts Grounds between 5:00 and 7:30 to check on the progress.

The Charlottesville Mural Project incorporates community perspectives to showcase the talents of artists locally, regionally and abroad, while contributing to the cultural and visual vibrancy of the city. Their broad curatorial interests range from modern street/graffiti art to wheat-pasted photographs to more formal “themed” murals. They partner with painters, illustrators, photographers, graphic designers–even poets and writers! They also believe it’s important to inspire people of all ages with creative, public art projects. By involving the public in projects that visibly change the landscape of this city, the Charlottesville Mural Project helps instill a sense of pride and involvement in the community. Additionally, murals are a great way to encourage teamwork and artistic expression. There’s nothing like getting covered in paint!
