The McIntire Department of Music is pleased to present the 2016-2017 University of Virginia Chamber Music Series. This annual series, which presents innovative performances by the University of Virginia's world-class faculty and celebrated guest artists, is comprised of six professional performances for the University and the central Virginia community. These intimate afternoon concerts are programmed to offer both new and traditional works that will delight audiences of all musical tastes.

On Sunday, March 19, Katy Ambrose will present a potpourri of works for French horn and piano. 

Alongside John Mayhood, piano, Ambrose will present masterworks and modern classics alike, including Franz Joseph Strauss's Fantasie on Schubert's Sehnsuchtswalzer, Op. 2.  

Ambrose will round out the program with Vincent Persichetti's Parable VII for Solo Horn and will also present two premieres: Sarah DuBois's Sonatina, and Laho, written by UVA graduate student composer Rachel Devorah Trapp.
