The Virginia Belles, the oldest all-female a cappella group at the University of Virginia, will present Good Morning, Mr. Jefferson on April 16th, 2011 at 8PM in McLeod Hall.

The program features originally arranged covers of new and old popular tunes arranged by students in the group that is sure to be a fun night of musical entertainment for all ages. “Impressing audiences for decades with their energy, talent and vivacity, the Belles continue to work hard to produce exceptional, polished music” (A Cappella Records) and this concert will certainly uphold these standards. The concert will be designed to cater to both young and old audiences with a little something for everyone.

Good Morning, Mr. Jefferson will feature around 12 songs total, all arrange by the Belles’ Musical Director Abena Hagan-Brown and Assistant Musical Director Jenny Hoye, both students at the University of Virginia. While the music plays a vital role in the performance, the students have worked hard to implement choreography and other crowd-pleasing antics into the concert.. As is custom for Virginia Belles concerts, a vividly entertaining concert-themed video will also be premiered.

The Virginia Belles are thrilled to announce the release of their newest album, entitled Good Morning, Mr. Jefferson. The CD features 12 new tracks, including songs by VV Brown, Sara Barielles, Christina Aguilera, Erin McCarley, Kings of Leon, and more. The album will be available for purchase for $15 at the concert on April 16th or online at www.vabelles.com. The Virginia Belles are also pleased to announce that they have partnered with the One Love Foundation and will donate $1 from each CD sold in honor of their dear friend, Yeardley Love. Refreshments will be sold at intermission, as well as a great selection of award-winning CDs that the Belles have recorded over the past years.

Tickets for Good Morning, Mr. Jefferson are $5 in advance, $5.50 online at http://www.vabelles.com and $6 at the door. Tickets will be sold on the UVa Lawn, online, from individual group members, as well as at the door.
