Virginia Chamber Music Foundation Spring Concert
- Wednesday, May 26, 2010
- The Paramount
- 8:00pm
- $10-$50
Due to a family illness, Steven Isserlis has regretfully had to withdraw from the “Steven Isserlis and Friends” concert on May 26th. The Virginia Chamber Music Foundation is pleased to announce that Edward Arron, an esteemed New York-based cellist, has graciously agreed to replace Steven Isserlis for the concert, which will now simply be called our “Spring Concert.” The original program of works by Mozart, Franck and Dvorak will remain substantially the same, but virtuoso violinist Jennifer Frautschi and pianist Ya-Fei Chuang will now play the Franck sonata as it was originally written, for violin and piano.
Raphael Bell and Timothy Summers, founders and co-Artistic Directors of the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival, are both members of the acclaimed Mahler Chamber Orchestra, and perform regularly at major international musical venues. Violinist Jennifer Frautschi, pianist Ya-Fei Chuang, and violists Dov Scheindlin and Kyle Armbrust have likewise performed at many of the world’s premier musical events, including Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, the Beethoven Festival (Warsaw) with Christoph Eschenbach, the European Music Festival (Stuttgart), and the Tanglewood Festival, as well as with major orchestras.
