Adjunct Lecturer in Clarinet for academic year 2018-19

The University of Virginia, McIntire Department of Music seeks applications for a one year position of Adjunct Lecturer in Clarinet for academic year 2018-19. Responsibilities include coaching orchestra clarinet sectionals and developing a studio of undergraduate clarinet students (approximately 10). 

Qualifications: Graduate degree or commensurate professional experience. Demonstrated experience as a performer and teacher; strong potential as a teacher of undergraduate students. Candidates should be comfortable teaching students of varying skill levels (music majors and non-majors), and teaching a range of classical and modern techniques and repertoires. Compensation is per service for studio teaching; 2018-19 rate is $730 per student per semester of one-hour lessons, plus additional compensation for sectionals. Appointment to begin on August 28, 2018. 

This position works in conjunction with Charlottesville Symphony's principal clarinet position.
