Daniel Sender's three-city European tour:March 6th – 11th, 2023

UVA Music Professor Daniel Sender (violin) gave a lecture, masterclass and two solo recitals on a three-city European tour that took place March 6th – 11th.

Sender lectured on his research and recent compositions based on Roma folk tunes.  Towards the end of the week, he gave the Czech and Austrian premiers of both his Scenes from Csenyéte and Three Souvenirs.  He performed with the outstanding Hungarian pianist Emese Mali in Vienna's Corbelli Palace (home to IES Vienna), and with Lambert Orkis protégé Bethany Danel Brooks in Prague.  The varied programs featured works such as Franck's iconic Sonata in A Major and Mozart's playfully effervescent Sonata, K.526.

More recently, Sender was also featured as a guest clinician for the popular online musical community tonebase.co. His livestreamed workshop, “Mastering Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances,” aired April 4th and was enthusiastically received by the virtual participants!
