John D'earth - 2024 Charlottesville Jazz Hero
John D'earth, director of UVA's Jazz Performance Program, has been chosen as Charlottesville Jazz Hero of 2024!
On April 15th, 2024, the Jazz Journalists Association published an article on the Charlottesville Jazz Hero of 2024, UVA's very own John D'earth. Author Russell Perry detailed D'earth's accomplishments to showcase why he was awarded this honor. As stated by Perry, "For the past four decades, he’s anchored and nurtured a broadly expansive jazz community here in Central Virginia. John D’earth deserves every bit of thanks and appreciation as Charlottesville Jazz Hero that we can provide."
