For this pair of Masterworks, entitled Gleb Ivanov Returns, the Charlottesville Symphony is joined by pianist Gleb Ivanov. Mr. Ivanov, who dazzled Charlottesville Symphony audiences last year, is the soloist at both concerts. Following a performance at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Washington Post wrote, “Eerily like the ghost of Horowitz, Mr. Ivanov engulfed the keyboard, rattling the rafters and thrilling the audience. His talent is larger than life.”
Months after arriving in the United States from Russia, he won First Prize at the 2005 Young Concerts Artists International Auditions.
