Ode to Glass -Student Performances of the Music of Philip Glass

The U.Va. Arts Board presents "Ode to Glass,"  featuring student performances by the New Music Ensemble, University Chamber Singers and MICE (Mobile Interactive Computer Ensemble). Each ensemble will perform selections of Philip Glass's works.  Glass will then present a public talk on creativity and collaboration in the arts following the concert, which will culminate with a question-and-answer session led by Music Department Chair Richard Will.

This event is part of the 2014 Music Arts Board.

The Arts Board of the University of Virginia presents an outstanding artist, performance, and/or exhibition each year in a three-year rotation including music, visual arts, and drama. The Arts Board program was created to raise students' awareness of, appreciation for, and participation in the arts.

Events for the Glass residency will be free of charge. The solo piano performance on Tuesday, April 1 is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available for members of the U.Va. community beginning February 28, 2014, and must be collected in-person from the University of Virginia Arts Box Office by showing a U.Va. ID card. Beginning on March 3, 2014, tickets will be available to the general public, and can be reserved by visiting or calling the University of Virginia Arts Box Office at 434-924-3376 or online at www.artsboxoffice.virginia.edu. Those who have reserved tickets may pick them up at the concert venue until 7:45pm on April 1st; however, it is recommended that you pick them up in advance at the Arts Box Office. Each patron is limited to 2 tickets.
