Department of Music

The Charlottesville Jazz Society and the McIntire Department of Music present a lecture performance by Patricia Barber on Monday, February 4 from 11-11:50am in Old Cabell Hall. Ms. Barber will perform examples of songs from her latest CD SMASH! This demonstration will focus on the interaction between rhyme and syllable count in lyrics with musical composition. As homage to strict form, Ms. Barber will explore classic songwriters and poets. The event is free and open to the public.
