The students in professor Gordon's seminar have spent the semester studying music making and soundscapes in late 18 th and early 19 th century America. They have used the primary source materials in UVa's special collections including scrapbooks, sheet music, bound volumes, broadsides, and slave narratives as a point of departure for their collaborative investigation of music in Jefferson’s America. Patricia Lampkin and Wayne Cozart have opened their home so this unique concert can be enjoyed in the context of original Jeffersonian architecture. Seating is limited. This event is free.
