UVA Wind Ensemble Fall Concert

WindThe University of Virginia McIntire Department of Music is pleased to announce the Fall Concert of the UVA Wind Ensemble on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 3:30pm in Old Cabell Hall.

The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. William Pease and assistant director Andrew Koch, features 45 of the most talented musicians from every school at the University. The ensemble’s performance will include Overture to Candide, Festival Variations, and more, including a Clarinet Concerto, featuring fourth year clarinet player, Joseph Muldoon. The Wind Ensemble will be joined by the Hanover High School Band, conducted by Amy Birdsong.

Hanover High School was founded in 2003, and in that short time, the band program has grown to encompass a Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and Wind Ensemble. Hanover High School Band was recognized as a Virginia State Honor Band in the 2006-2007 school year after its Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Marching Band received superior ratings at VBODA festivals. Amy Birdsong has been the Director of Bands since the program begin in 2003.

Tickets for the Wind Ensemble Concert at 3:30pm on Sunday, November 11 are $10 for the General Public, $5 for Students, and free for UVA Students who reserve at least 24 hours in advance.
