Department of Music

The Virginia Gentlemen are the University of Virginia's first a cappella group, founded in 1953. They are an all-male ensemble best known for professional performances in our signature bow tie and blazer attire. In recent years, the group has performed for the President and the First Lady Obama, Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell,  and thousands of other audience members in places like Australia, China, and Southeast Asia, as well as in and around the University.
