The Wind Ensemble’s fall concert is titled “Re:Framed.” Roland Moehlmann’s arrangement of Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in Bb Major is an arrangement of Bach’s BWV 553 (originally in C Major); Omar Thomas’ Shenandoah presents a unique, introspective interpretation of the Shenandoah folk tune; Shuying Li’s The Last Hive Mind was inspired by an episode of the dystopian Netflix Show Black Mirror; Daniel Fisher’s Echoes is a reimagination of Vincent Persichetti’s compositional style, with inspiration from Persichetti’s Pageant; and movements of Robert Russell Bennett’s Suite of Old American Dances and Erika Svanoe’s Steampunk Suite are combined to create a handful of “suites” (sweets) to conclude the concert.
