The UVA Wind Ensemble, conducted by Elliott Tackitt, will perform on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 7pm in the Hunter Smith Band Building.  This event is free and open to the public. 

The UVA Wind Ensemble performs works by John Philip Sousa's King Cotton March, Daniel Fisher's Echoes, Vincent Persichetti's Divertimento, Op. 42, Molly Joyce's Up and Down, John Mackey's Some Treasures are Heavy with Human Tears, and Katahj Copley's In Living Color

The University of Virginia Wind Ensemble is open to all students at UVA by audition, and is conducted by the Director of Bands, Elliott Tackitt.

Dr. Tackitt joined the University of Virginia in Fall 2021 as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands.  Among his duties in this role, he directs the Cavalier Marching Band, conducts the Wind Ensemble, and provides artistic guidance to the entire band program.

The Hunter Smith Band Building is located at 180 Culbreth Rd, Charlottesville VA, 22903.  Parking is available in the Culbreth Theater Parking Garage at 130 Culbreth Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
