Link Text to a Document in Content
Link Text to an External Website in Content
- Open the content page that you will link text to an external website
- For this example, we will be using a basic page
- In the "Body," highlight text that will link to an external website
- Click on "Link" in the gadgets menu
- Enter the URL of the external website
- Click "Ok"
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type
Link Text to an Internal Website in Content
- Open the content page that you will link text to an internal website
- For this example, we will be using a basic page
- In the "Body," highlight text that will link to an internal website
- Click on "Link" in the gadgets menu
- Enter the URL of the internal website
- Internal websites uses the Protocol <other> and begin with a forward slash (/)
- Only what you want to link to internally, not the main URL,
- Example: sociology.com/about (only enter "/about" to the protocol)
- Click "Ok"
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type
Change Target Window
- You can change the target window of a "Link" in the "Target" tab
- If you would like your document to open on the same page, leave the Target as "<not set>"
- If you would like your document to open on the new tab, click "Target" > choose "New Window (_blank) > Click "Ok"
- Click "Save" at the bottom of the content type
