Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival Opening Concert

The Festival opens its 14th season with eclectic American pieces by Lou Harrison, Annie Gosfield, and Frederic Rzewski, featuring percussionist Matthew Gold, and finishes with a Brahms Piano Quartet for a strong, heavily constructed end.

Founded in 2000 by Charlottesville natives Raphael Bell (cello) and Timothy Summers (violin and viola), the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival, September 8-22, 2013, invites world-class, professional musicians who give fresh reads on traditional classical works, as well as contemporary chamber works. The diversity of programming, musicians, and variety of instrumentation sets this Festival apart in Central Virginia, and provides a unique opportunity for chamber music lovers throughout the region.
