The Charlottesville Symphony and the UVA Department of Music are pleased to announce the fourth student Concerto Competition, the winner of which will perform with the Symphony on the March 20th and 21st, 2027 concerts.  

Eligibility: Current UVA students who are taking for-credit private lessons with an instructor in the UVA Music Department and are participating in the symphony. Pianists, non-orchestral instruments, and vocalists are exempt from the latter.  Past winners are not eligible. 

Complete information and the application form can be found here. The application deadline is Friday, October 30, 2026, and the live competition will be held on the evening of Sunday, November 15, 2026.

The UVA Concerto Competition was established in 2023 by the Music Department to recognize the outstanding achievements of our students.
