Concerto Competition

The Charlottesville Symphony and the UVA Department of Music are pleased to announce the third student Concerto Competition, the winner of which will perform with the Symphony on the February 14th and 15th, 2026 concerts.
Eligibility: Current UVA students who are taking for-credit private lessons with an instructor in the UVA Music Department and are participating in the symphony. Pianists, non-orchestral instruments, and vocalists are exempt from the latter. Past winners are not eligible. Complete information and the application form can be found here. The UVA Concerto Competition was established in 2023 by the Music Department to recognize the outstanding achievements of our students. Student interest in the inaugural competition was high, and the level of performance was even higher.
