Step into a world where music, technology, and imagination converge as the University of Virginia Department of Music presents Digitalis on Tuesday, April 20, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. in Old Cabell Hall.

Digitalis is the Composition & Computer Technologies program's annual showcase of experimental works for sound, visual media, and emerging technologies. Featuring world premieres by undergraduate and graduate composers, the concert invites audiences to experience original creations that challenge traditional ideas of music and performance.

Every Digitalis concert is unique. Past performances have featured multichannel electronic sound, live electronics, video, interactive lighting, original digital instruments, sound installations, multimedia performance, and other innovative works that blur the boundaries between music, technology, and visual art. Together, these projects transform Old Cabell Hall into a laboratory for creative exploration, where composers experiment with new ways of listening, performing, and experiencing sound.

Created by students in the University of Virginia's internationally recognized Composition & Computer Technologies (CCT) program, Digitalis reflects a spirit of artistic curiosity, technical innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Whether through acoustic instruments, electronic media, immersive environments, or interactive technologies, each work offers a fresh perspective on what music can become.

Whether you are an enthusiast of contemporary music, an artist, a technologist, or simply curious about new creative experiences, Digitalis offers an evening unlike any other in the Department of Music's concert season.
