Electronic Dance Music Production & Performance

In this course, students engage with electronic dance music (EDM) from a variety of perspectives, including listening to and analyzing the structure of EDM works. Students explore the history of EDM scenes from the 1970s through today, compose original works using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), experiment with audio effects and production techniques, and perform their music in a venue designed for electronic music.
Please note: This is an upper-level course. Students are expected to have a solid musical background and prior experience using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).
