The Music Department will present an engaging evening of chamber music showcasing a rich and varied program spanning the 19th and 21st centuries. The performance will feature faculty artists in an intimate concert highlighting both well-known and lesser-performed works. This final concert of the 2025–26 UVA Chamber Music Series takes place on Sunday, April 12th at 3:30pm in Old Cabell Hall.

The program opens with Miniature (1998) by South African composer Allan Stephenson, a lively and expressive three-movement work performed by oboist Kelly Peral, violinist David Sariti, violist Ayn Balija, and cellist Adam Carter.

Adolf Busch’s Deutsche Tänze, Op. 26, No. 3 (1926) follows, bringing a spirited and lyrical character to the stage, performed by David Sariti (violin), Adam Carter (cello), and clarinetist Jiyeon Choi.

The first half concludes with Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Horn, Trumpet, and Trombone (1922), presented here in an arrangement by Jiyeon Choi. This vibrant and playful work will be performed by Natheniel Lee (trombone), Jeremy Ulm (horn), and Jiyeon Choi (clarinet).

Following intermission, the program continues with Suite en trio (1980) by Claude Arrieu (Louise-Marie Simon), a lively and rhythmically engaging work performed by Elizabeth Roberts (bassoon), Kelly Peral (oboe), and Jiyeon Choi (clarinet).

The concert concludes with Franz Ignaz Danzi’s Quartet in D minor, Op. 40, No. 2 (1814), a work that blends Classical elegance with early Romantic expressivity. Performers include Elizabeth Roberts (bassoon), David Sariti (violin), Ayn Balija (viola), and Adam Carter (cello).
