MUSI 2509 Multimedia Storytelling & Production (3 credits)

This hands-on workshop course explores creative storytelling from a maker’s perspective using audio, text, images, and interactive digital platforms. By the end of our nine days together, students will have planned, produced, and published a new podcast and digital content about Charlottesville music, utilizing multimedia tools and presentation platforms.

MUSI 3559 / Topic: Sound and Sustainability (3 credits)

In this intensive J-Term course, students will learn how emerging creative approaches to sound are advancing research in health and personal wellbeing, environmental conservation, energy production, social stability, aesthetics, and engineering technologies. Students will learn tools and methods needed to bring sound into their own research projects and creative artworks. Each student will receive a field recording kit and will make sound recordings that will be played on an immersive audio system.
