Julia Totten is a fourth year student at UVA from Jamestown, Rhode Island. Julia is majoring in Music with a Performance Concentration and Biochemistry. Julia also participated in solo and ensemble festivals for eight years and consistently received superior rankings. In addition, Julia was the first chair flutist of her high school band and was deeply involved in the music program, playing in the pit orchestra for the school’s musical theater productions. In addition to playing flute, Julia loves spending her free time listening to all forms of music. At UVA, Julia studies flute under Professor Kelly Sulick and is a member of the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra. She is a Miller Arts Scholar and serves as a music representative on the Miller Arts Scholars Student Executive Committee. After graduating, Julia plans to take a gap year to work in the medical field while applying to medical schools.

This recital is supported by the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund. Established in 2004 by the generosity of Mr. Alan Y. Roberts ('64) and Mrs. Sally G. Roberts, the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund underwrites the private lessons and recital costs for undergraduate music majors giving a recital in their fourth year as part of a distinguished major program in music.
