The superb musicians of the Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival are known for their fresh, exciting performances. In this fourth concert of the series, Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto, who wowed Festival audiences in 2006 and 2007, and Scottish pianist Alasdair Beatson bring a northern sensibility to the music of Shostakovich and Sibelius. Violist Nicholas Cords, who tours the world with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, and festival founders violinist Timothy Summers and cellist Raphael Bell round out the ensemble.
