Brandon West

Brandon West is the Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Virginia, where he assists with rehearsals and logistics across the band program and instructs the drumline. He holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

An active educator and clinician, Brandon arranges and teaches percussion music, writes marching band drill, and adjudicates throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Ensembles under his direction have earned state and national recognition, and he previously served with the Elon University Marching Band and as Director of Bands at a middle school in Orange County.

As a performer, Brandon has appeared at major regional and national conferences. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Percussive Arts Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
