Michael Adkins

Michael is the Music Department Office and Project Assistant. Michael provides support for various department functions as needed, including event promotion and production. He manages the recording and livestreaming services for department events and assists with equipment and inventory management.

Michael worked in the animal welfare field for seven years before joining the Department of Music, learning much about the challenges facing both domestic and wild animals. However, Michael's first love is music, having recorded and toured with his band from 2014-2020. He is excited to be supporting other musicians and fellow music-lovers.

Michael lives in Afton with his wife Madie and two dogs, Olive and Remy. They enjoy hiking, attending live concerts and UVA sporting events, and vacationing in Central America. Michael's other passions are birding and observing snakes in the wild.
