UVA Cello Studio Recital - Spring 2026
On Sunday, April 26th, at 12:30pm, students from the cello studio of Professor Adam Carter will perform solos accompanied by cello ensemble; This concert is free and open to the public and will take place in the dome room of UVA's rotunda.
The recital will include works by Dvořák, Elgar, Haydn, Lalo, Piatigorsky, and Saint-Saëns.
Performers include Sabrina Gernhardt, Paco Herrera, Rudy Lampitt, Shruthy Rajkumar, Eliott Renenger, Cameron Spears, Emmet Townsend, Josalin Wang, and Jordan Wood.
The UVA Cello Ensemble is directed by Adam Carter. Cellist Adam Carter maintains an active career as a recitalist, chamber and orchestral musician, and teacher. Dr. Carter is currently the principal cellist of the Charlottesville Symphony and has performed with the Richmond Symphony, Madison Symphony, Winston-Salem Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra.
This free recital takes place at the Dome Room of the Rotunda at the University of Virginia. Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, and along the streets by the church or in The Corner Parking Lots, the Free Trolley stop is in front of the Rotunda directly across the street from St. Paul's Church.
